Electronic Health Record (EHR) Principal Trainer Grade V This is an exciting time to join the new Electronic Health Record (EHR) team as an EHR Principal Trainer.
This role will be varied, fast-paced and you'll be part of a team dedicated to implementing the EHR for the new CHI hospital which is due to open in 2025.
We are seeking a small team of Principal Trainers to manage the production of training materials for a specific module covering several clinical and administrative areas of the hospital.
This role will also work closely with the relevant EHR application team to ensure the training materials align with their configuration build.

Purpose of the Role: CHI will work with Epic Systems, a software company who are a world leader in this technology, to implement an electronic health record (EHR) system across the organisation, which will go live at the same time as the new hospital opens – as Ireland's first fully digitalised hospital.
The EHR Principal Trainer is a core member of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) team.
EHR Principal Trainers are assigned to a specific module(s) and will work with the training manager, Application Leads and Application teams to assist with the configuration of the module and then develop and maintain the training materials and training programme for the end users.
The Principal Trainer will also undertake IT training needs analysis in support of training required to establish and utilise the most appropriate method of training delivery for all grades of staff, irrespective of digital skills, up to and including executive levels e.g.
· one-to-one training sessions
· classroom and workplace-based group sessions (presentations and hands on)
· webinar-based training, e-learning (design and development)
As part of this role the EHR Principal Trainer will be required to undertake training and achieve accreditation in the relevant EHR vendor module(s).
Training location may be Ireland, UK, Europe or North America.
This position would suit candidates from the following areas (experienced with skills or recent graduates):
· Nursing, Midwifery, Pharmacy, HSCP disciplines or Medicine (NCHD)
· Operational or Administration
· ICT, eHealth, Software Engineering or Computer Science
· Digital Health and/or eHealth
· Systems training, training/teaching other adults
We particularly welcome applications from those with knowledge or experience of training others and/or from the following areas: Patient Administration System (PAS - Patient demographics, scheduling, wait list management and patient flow), Inpatient Clinical Documentation, Inpatient Order Communications, Emergency Department, Outpatients (Ambulatory), Theatre and Anaesthesia, Laboratory (Pathology), Radiology, Cardiology, Pharmacy and Oncology.
Essential Criteria: · Educated to Level 6 Higher Certificate or Degree relevant to the post
· Equivalent experience and understanding of health care systems and processes
OR · Minimum of two year's knowledge of technical, clinical care, patient administrative processes or experience in training/teaching others
