Role Profile
The Ruminant Business Manager will maintain and develop sales with a list of key customers, acting as the primary link between Tirlán and our farmers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage with a portfolio of farmers to understand their past, present, and future feed, fertiliser, veterinary, dairy hygiene, or other farm input needs.
2. Respond to requests for technical advice and seek specialist input from Technical Development as required.
3. Proactively identify opportunities to improve farm profitability, sustainability, or milk quality.
4. Communicate results of forage and soil analysis (including nutrient management plans) to farmers.
5. Maintain up-to-date and accurate farm data on CRM including milk supply ambitions, sales, opportunities, complaints, etc.
6. Process orders for feed, fertiliser, veterinary/other products, ensuring delivery to farmers per agreed SLA.
7. Provide input to Technical Development and Marketing on product/service portfolio development.
8. Execute field marketing/promotional campaigns by communicating new offers, directed by Marketing.
9. Manage monthly cash collection process.
10. Drive farmer adoption of Tirlán schemes by communicating scheme details and resolving queries.
11. Participate in area & regional representative structures.
12. Collaborate with local Branch Managers to provide farmers with optimum services across channels.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor of Agriculture Science or higher is an advantage but not essential.
2. An ability to be resilient in a competitive market.
3. A strong knowledge of the technical elements across all categories of Animal Health.
4. A strong working knowledge of IT systems including Microsoft and SAP with the ability to learn other systems.
5. Strong sales and customer service background.
6. Extensive experience in the agricultural industry with strong local market knowledge.
7. Proven ability to execute against commercial plans and targets.
