The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing engineering projects from inception to completion within an engineering consultancy. This role involves leading engineering design, technical solutions, resource allocation, and ensuring project deliverables meet client expectations, industry standards, and project timelines. The Senior Electrical Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including clients, contractors, and internal engineers, to provide high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Project Management: Lead and manage the delivery of engineering projects, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Design and Engineering Oversight: Oversee and support the development of engineering designs, ensuring compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and best practices.
* Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous development.
* Client Interaction: Serve as the main point of contact for clients regarding project status, technical queries, and deliverables, ensuring strong, productive relationships.
* Risk Management: Identify project risks and issues early and implement effective mitigation strategies.
* Resource Management: Coordinate resources across multiple projects, ensuring proper allocation of manpower, materials, and budget.
* Quality Assurance: Monitor quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, performing regular reviews and audits to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Budget and Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery within budget constraints.
* Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure all project activities are conducted following safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
* Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, proposals, and other project-related documents.
* Continuous Improvement: Contribute to improving internal processes, methodologies, and tools used to manage projects within the consultancy.
Key Requirements
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related discipline).
* Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in engineering project management, preferably in a consultancy or contracting environment.
* Experience within life sciences is preferred.
* Proven experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams.
* Expertise in project delivery within budget, on schedule, and to high-quality standards.
* Technical Skills: Strong technical background with the ability to review and validate engineering designs.
* Familiarity with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
* Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, etc.).
* Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
