We are seeking a Senior Engineer to lead construction projects for a Tier 1 building contractor on a high-profile Life Sciences project in Galway.
This key leadership role requires technical expertise, strong organisational skills, and effective communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Management: Lead and manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and project budgets.
* Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the project team, including engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
* Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure that all construction activities meet required standards and specifications.
* Coordination: Collaborate with architects, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any technical issues.
* Health and Safety: Promote strict adherence to health and safety regulations on construction sites, fostering a culture of safety among the project team.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, site diaries, and as-built drawings.
* Team Management: Provide leadership and guidance to junior engineers and site staff, promoting a positive work environment and encouraging professional development.
* Cost Control: Monitor project costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to optimise project budgets.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's/Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
* Minimum of four years' experience in an engineering role in the construction sector.
* Experience with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 building contractor is highly desirable.
* Good IT skills.
* Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry best practices.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a project team, manage subcontractors, and drive project success.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, architects, and subcontractors.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and resolve technical issues.
