You will provide material characterization testing, analyze data and provide reports summarizing the findings.Technical Responsibilities:Under minimal supervision, perform materials testing and microstructural characterization including optical microscopy, SEM/EDX, FTIR, DSC, Surface Tensiometry/Contact angle measurements, DMA, Corrosion testingCreate and improve test methods for materials characterizationSupport problem solving, root cause analysis, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against requirementsAnalyze and draw conclusions from test resultsClearly summarize, communicate and properly document results and recommendationsBusiness Responsibilities:Interpret customer needs and understands design inputsUnderstand the product’s intended use and clinical proceduresMed Device Compliance:Understand fundamental industry standards, design requirements and test strategies which align with regulatory requirementsWith supervision, create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file per company design control proceduresLearn R&D procedures like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management SystemGeneral Responsibilities:With supervision, work with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project successLearn procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology requiredWork on problems in limited scope; purposefully learn while gaining experienceDemonstrate ownership and integrity of workBuild stable relationshipsContribute to the project as a team memberWhat You Will Have:2+ years of work experience (Minimum)Degree in Materials Science, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similarTechnical Skills (Preferred):Fundamental knowledge and understanding of materials (metals, polymers) and manufacturing methodsBasic knowledge of analytical techniques used for materials characterizationHands-on experience and basic knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methodsAbility to read and Interpret complex drawingsTravel Percentage: 10%
