About the Position
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will provide tactical and strategic support for third-party sourcing and is responsible for the end-to-end supply chain including contract negotiation and supplier relationship management. They will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate new product selection and participate in global initiatives.
Experience with sterile injectables is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build business cases for outsourcing products.
* Lead vendor scouting and due diligence for vendor selection.
* Support Strategic Sourcing to drive successful product launches and manage vendors.
* Build relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors.
* Evolve and standardize outsourced manufacturing RFQ process.
* Establish third-party strategic sourcing strategy and manage supplier relationships.
* Address ongoing supply chain issues and implement risk mitigation plans.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures for inventory and logistics management.
* Support global ESG initiatives at third-party vendors.
* Ensure procurement/sourcing decisions align with quality objectives, GMP/GDP practices, and FDA regulations, working closely with the Quality group.
Experience/Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years’ experience in Supply Chain, materials management, strategic sourcing, planning, or procurement.
* Sterile Pharmaceutical or Biotech product experience.
* Significant ERP experience (SAP, COUPA, and Tableau preferred).
* Detailed knowledge of sales, forecasting, planning, buying, and distribution.
* Deep understanding of the product development, approval, and launch process in an FDA regulated industry (will be assessed during interviews).
* Detailed knowledge of negotiation, procurement, strategic sourcing, and contracting.
* Proven track record of successful New Product Implementations with pharmaceutical companies, CMOs, or CPOs.
* Proven track record in influencing organizational change at strategic and tactical levels.
* Demonstrated ability to negotiate and manage complex new product developments and third-party relationships.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely informed decisions.
* Ability to research, collect, and analyze complex or diverse information, and develop strategies and objectives for the organization.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to design workflows and procedures and complete all projects on time and within budget.
* Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and communicate change effectively.
* Strong planning and organizational skills.
* Ability to maintain professionalism and react well under pressure.
* Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance, and monitors own work to ensure quality.
