a global engineering, procurement, construction management, and validation (EPCMV) firm that serves clients in various industries, including advanced technology, life sciences, and food and beverage are currently searching for a Quantity Surveyor in Cork. Our client offer a range of services, from project management to process design and construction, and focus on delivering innovative solutions that meet their clients' specific needs. The successful candidate will receive an excellent remuneration package and work on a multi million pharmaceutical project.
Responsibilities
1. Collaborate as a vital member of a multidisciplinary project Engineering team, actively engaged on-site in managing projects within the dynamic Life Sciences sector in Cork.
2. Take ownership of all aspects related to Quantity Surveying, demonstrating expertise in both pre and post contract duties.
3. Apply "Lean" project delivery principles to optimize project efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
4. Prepare accurate and comprehensive capital cost estimates, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
5. Develop pricing documents for tender packages, facilitating the smooth execution of tendering procedures and contract arrangements.
6. Evaluate and analyze tender submissions, employing sound judgment and negotiation skills to secure favorable outcomes.
7. Continuously monitor and assess project progress, valuing work completed on-site for interim certificates.
8. Effectively manage commercial contracts, diligently handling variations and changes while maintaining cost control.
9. Foster effective communication and collaboration with clients, as well as other construction professionals such as site managers, project managers, and site engineers.
10. Verify and validate contractors' final accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.
11. Expedite contractors' insurances, bonds, and collateral warranties to guarantee adequate coverage and risk management.
Requirements
12. Hold a recognized qualification in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent field, demonstrating a solid foundation of knowledge and expertise.
13. Possess a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a Consultant or Main contractor environment, successfully executing pre and post contract duties.
14. While not essential, prior experience in the Pharma/Biopharma industry is considered advantageous and highly valued.
15. Exhibit a strong understanding of building detail and construction technology, enabling effective evaluation and assessment of project requirements.
16. Proficiency in key software applications such as Excel, Cubit, Cost X, and Outlook is beneficial, facilitating efficient data analysis, budgeting, and reporting.
