KM Lynskey are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our expanding team in the main contracting division of the business.
The successful candidate will have significant knowledge of estimating within main contracting and have at least three years relevant experience along with strong communication skills.

THE ROLE:
Estimator As Estimator, you will be responsible for pricing a range of full lifecycle build projects including residential, commercial and educational works.
The role of Estimator involves the following responsibilities:
* Producing commercially sound and technically workable estimates to assist the company in winning projects Conduct continuous reviews of various tender websites and all other sources for tenders (such as E-tenders, CIS) to identify opportunities for tendering. To take full responsibility for the prioritization and completion of all relevant tenders, including the completion of accurate tender information including date of tender to determine prioritization of all tenders. Analyze drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. Ability to work to tight deadlines and work on multiple tenders simultaneously. Prepare estimates by compiling take-off bids based on scope of work to produce fully detailed bills of quantities, or pricing bill of quantity produced by the client/ design team. Coordinates with the client on all changes in scope, questions or clarifications regarding the work, during the bidding process. Carry out site visits and surveys to understand the scope of works involved; Identify scope for value engineering through product selection. Complete analysis of tenders and prices received from the supply chain. Obtain feedback on both successful and unsuccessful tenders. Liaising with quantity surveying team, procurement, subcontractors and other stakeholders as necessary Keeping up to date with current building techniques and relevant codes of practice, building regulations and legislation to make sure these are taken account of in the estimating process. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving innovation and excellence in estimating and commercial practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential Skills Experience as an estimator in main contracting environment with proven experience on residential and commercial project bids In depth knowledge of building regulations and standards.
Good experience in understanding design documents, drawings and 3-D models Ability to effectively manage estimating process and associated schedules to required deadlines Strong I.T skills are essential, including with packages such as CostX or Buildsoft Full Irish driving license Ability to working in a team environment and collaborate with various departments.
