Job Title: Estates Manager
The Estates Manager will provide leadership and vision in the management, maintenance and control of Council's Estates function and associated statutory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Devise and continually review strategies and policies to meet statutory targets.
• Provide advice and analysis to support policy and decision making.
• Support the Director in creating a high performing culture by agreeing and delivering key strategic and operational priorities.
• Lead transformational change by working with the Council, Director and Senior Management Team to ensure effective integration and convergence of current functions and responsibilities.
• Contribute to the development, delivery and review of the Council's vision, corporate strategy and community plan.
• Develop internal and external partnerships that contribute to the delivery of the Council's Corporate and Community Plans.
• Deliver high quality services across the functional area using performance management to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage the resources within the service area, including staff, physical assets and forecast revenue income/expenditure.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, legislative and governance requirements, maintaining a safe working environment for staff and public.
Essential Criteria:
• Proven experience in managing estates or similar function.
• Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Desirable Criteria:
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g. estate management, business administration).
• Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. RICS, IoD).
• Experience of developing and implementing strategic plans.
• Knowledge of local government policies and procedures.
• Experience of managing budgets and resources.
• Ability to communicate complex information to non-technical audiences.
• Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience of developing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary: £64,189 - £67,686 per annum
