Group Accounts Assistant An excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Group Accounts Assistant has arisen in our clients Finance Team.
The role is based in their Meath based office, where they are experiencing significant growth and expansion in the Commercial, Flooring and Painting Sector.
This role requires a good understanding of construction payment terms, retentions, and the ability to navigate the unique challenges of this sector.
The role will primarily focus on credit control and collections, ensuring timely payment from our customers while maintaining strong customer relationships.
The successful candidate will also provide general accounts support as required.

Key Responsibilities: Credit Control & Collections Proactively manage and monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices, to ensure timely payment of invoices and valuations for payment.
Chase overdue payments via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities.
Resolve customer queries and disputes regarding invoices, payments and retentions.
Prepare and send monthly statements to customers.
Provide analysis of debtor aging and regular reports on outstanding balances Identify and escalate potential bad debt risks to Management.
Maintain and update customer credit information.
General Accounts Support Assist with the processing of supplier invoices in all Group Companies.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Expense accounting for employees.
Ad hoc finance requests, such as assistance with Audit requests.
Essential Skills and Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a credit control/accounts assistant role Strong understanding of credit control procedures and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers.
Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience: Relevant accounting qualification or in the processing training (e.g., IATI, Accounting Technician).
Experience in the UK market and an understanding of UK business practices an advantage.
Personal Attributes: Proactive, self-motivated.
Customer-focused and professional.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
