Finance Systems Accountant
Your role
The Finance Systems Accountant sits within the Web Finance Team under Finance Transformation. The team is responsible for handling technical issues and queries relating to the various finance accounting, banking, treasury and revenue systems within Aer Lingus Finance and liaising with support partners to resolve same. Additionally, they will work to support development and enhancement of our recently implemented SAP finance system and other existing systems to achieve best in class financial operations and reporting. Your responsibilities as a Finance Systems Accountant will include:Provide end to end expertise to support recently implemented SAP S4 Hana.Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure seamless integration of SAP modules with other systems.Applying surveillance reporting to the various integration points across SAP and other finance applications, including respective dashboards. Identify and resolve system issues, providing post-go-live support and continuous process improvements.Assist in the development, implementation and documentation of finance system changes and new functionality (in conjunction with module owners), ensuring that adequate testing is performed on all changes to the system in line with best practice to ensure system integrity is maintained and that changes reflect the business requirements.Investigate, report and document technical system issues and where appropriate recommend system amendments to the software.Ensure the delivery of essential day-to-day finance systems administration requirements such as running schedules, system integration verification, approval hierarchy maintenance etc are performed within agreed timeframes to defined quality standards. Work with support partners to investigate and resolve incidents raised by finance users to ensure timely resolution.Promote an awareness of system security among users to deter unauthorised access to the systems and to ensure that users adopt best practices and procedures in their system use.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Aer Lingus Technology teams, GBS Technology/Finance Operations teams and software suppliers and other relevant internal/external parties to ensure that the interests of the users are addressed.
Your qualifications and key criteria
We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas:·Qualified accountant or part qualified with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other accounting qualification with 1-2 years + post qualified experience in an appropriate environment.Extensive experience of Finance ERP system particularly SAP S4 HANA.Experience supporting a large finance function with knowledge of end to end Finance data including source systems, accounting engines, sub ledgers, data integration layers, general ledgers, consolidations, revenue or treasury systems and analytics/reporting platforms.A strong background and understanding of business process improvement, systems implementation and controls.Advanced knowledge of Excel.Extensive experience of Power BI.Proven communication skills with the ability to present facts clearly to a diverse and wide-ranging audience.Ability to adapt quickly to changes in systems and technology.Continuous improvement mindset.Ability to document and support complex business systems flows.Analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work under pressure often to strict deadlines.Flexible, adaptable and able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.Able to pass a 5-year security background check*(or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in Dublin).Closing Date: 4th April 2025
Desirable criteria
SAP Certified Professional – Financials in SAP S4HANA for SAP ERP Finance Experts.Experience in BI tools e.g. Tableau/ Power BI and automation tools.Working knowledge of SQL.Business Process mapping software e.g. Visio.
