We are seeking a Qualified Accountant to join our team in the Wicklow area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to make an impact in a dynamic and growing business. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the construction and legal sectors, offering a strong foundation in both financial accounting and industry-specific regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation and analysis of financial statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
2. Monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, including cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
3. Tax planning and compliance, including VAT, PAYE, and corporation tax.
4. Ensuring financial controls and processes are in place to maintain accurate and efficient reporting.
5. Liaising with auditors, external accountants, and legal advisors.
6. Advising on financial implications of construction contracts, legal settlements, and project-based costs.
7. Assisting with the preparation of business plans and financial strategy.
8. Ensuring compliance with relevant construction industry regulations, including subcontractor payments, retention, and compliance with tax laws.
9. Handling legal-related financial matters, such as dispute resolutions, contracts, and settlements.
Key Requirements:
1. Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
2. Proven experience in accounting within the construction and/or legal sectors.
3. Strong knowledge of construction contracts and associated financial processes, including project costing and revenue recognition.
4. In-depth understanding of legal regulations affecting financial operations, including tax laws and compliance.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and legal advisors.
6. High proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar).
7. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
8. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Desirable:
1. Experience with financial reporting for construction projects.
2. Familiarity with legal accounting requirements, including settlements and litigation finance.
3. Project management experience in the context of financial oversight.
