A Day in the Life
At our Environmental, Health and Safety department in Medtronic, we focus on driving continuous improvement in our EHS Performance System through implementation of Risk Assessments & Controls, EHS Risk Competency, EHS Gemba Walks, EHS Observations and Tier meetings. EHS employees are directly involved in inputting EHS metrics, issuing weekly reports, conducting EHS training and coordination of EHS activities. To assist EHS Manager with the daily activities within the Environmental Health and Safety department. This role will provide a key input to the EHS Strategy and Site EHS Training Plan.
A Day in The Life Of:
* Experience life throughout many departments within the EHS function working with each function with the organisation.
* Contribute to supporting the department in day-to-day activities and liaise with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve issues.
* Provide EHS focus and technical support and ensure appropriate EHS system procedures are applied.
* Incident investigation and managing risk assessment reviews and approval of risk assessments.
* Conducting VDU assessments, risk assessments, ergonomic assessments and equipment risk assessments.
* Deliver EHS classroom training.
* Approval of new chemicals and updating chemical management databases.
* Populating Chemdoc, chemical management database.
* Supporting emergency planning processes.
* Updating Enablon, Corporate EHS metrics and incident database.
* Following up on EHS CAPAs and tracking to closure.
* Following up on Hazard Observations open actions.
* May provide/promote employee awareness/training on matters of environmental, health, and safety.
Key Skills & Experience
* Minimum Level 7 degree in Environmental Health and Safety or equivalent degree required.
* Excellent communication & presentation skills necessary.
* Ability to communicate verbally and/or in writing.
* Working knowledge of necessary Microsoft office packages.
* Good planning and organizational skills are required.
* Must be highly motivated and committed to continuous improvement.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Builds and maintains positive relationships with others; shows respect and consideration for others.
* Dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams.
