Inventory and Procurement Officer / Stores Officer Opportunity

A leading healthcare provider is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Stores Officer to join their finance team. The Stores Officer will work closely with the Financial Controller, Assistant Accountant, and department managers across the organisation. By ensuring the efficient flow of goods and services, accurate inventory control, and cost-effective purchasing, you will directly impact the organisation's operational efficiency, financial stability, and ability to deliver high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage day-to-day operations of the stores department, ensuring efficient service delivery.
2. Maintain accurate records of all store transactions, purchases, and inventory.
3. Operate and maintain the fixed asset register and preventative maintenance system.
4. Source products, raise purchase orders, and verify invoices.
5. Manage stock levels, including replenishment, rotation, and disposal.
6. Conduct stock takes and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
7. Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, and external agencies.
8. Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and health and safety requirements.
9. Contribute to budget forecasting and reporting.
10. Perform general services duties, including portering as required.
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience in an inventory management role or similar.
2. Strong understanding of purchasing and procurement processes.
3. Proficiency in using computerised inventory management systems.
4. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to storage and handling.
Remuneration:
Salary: €33,000-€47,000 DOE (paid hourly/weekly)
Holiday Entitlement: 24 days
