Job Title: Contracts Manager (Electrical)

Position Overview:
Our client, a leading electrical engineering contractor based in Cork, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrically Biased Contracts Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience in electrical contracting, with a focus on pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and commercial sectors. As a Contracts Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management: Lead and manage multiple electrical contracts across pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and commercial projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
2. Contract Administration: Oversee the full life-cycle of electrical contracts, from pre-construction to completion, including tendering, procurement, cost control, and variations management.
3. Client Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams, providing regular updates on project progress and resolving any issues promptly.
4. Team Leadership: Manage a team of electrical engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety.
5. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local and international electrical standards, health & safety regulations, and industry best practices.
6. Financial Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor project costs, and ensure financial targets are met while maintaining profitability.
7. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with electrical installations and construction projects.
8. Procurement: Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractors required for electrical projects.
9. Reporting: Provide detailed reports on project progress, timelines, budgets, and key performance indicators to senior management.
Requirements:
1. Qualifications: Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. Project Management qualification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is an advantage.
3. Experience: Proven experience in electrical contracting and project management, with a strong focus on pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and commercial projects.
4. At least 5 years’ experience in a contracts management role within the electrical sector.
5. Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, installations, and industry standards.
6. Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing project budgets and financial reporting.
7. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
8. Leadership and team management experience.
9. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
10. Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations, including CDM (Construction Design and Management) and ISO standards.
