Position Summary:
To provide a high standard of Radiographic service and patient care, including participation in the on-call service.
ResponsibilitiesKey Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide a high standard of radiographic work.
Be respectful of the confidential nature of the role, in particular the patient's right to confidentiality.
Read and adhere to all relevant policies, procedures and guidelines of Beaumont Imaging & Interventional Radiology Directorate.
Maintain a high standard of hygiene in the Hospital at all times.
Ensure effective safety procedures comply with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.Use Information Technology appropriately and comply with Confidentiality Law and Ethics, Privacy, and Data Protection.
Professional:
Ensure every patient is treated respectfully and provided with a high-quality service.
Communicate courteously with all staff at all times.
Attend relevant postgraduate courses as appropriate.
Assist with the quality assurance programme.
Operations:
Deliver a caring, efficient, and confidential radiographic service to patients.
Undertake radiographic and imaging examinations as required in General, ED, Theatre, Mobiles, and specialized areas.
Participate in "on-call" and sessional duties out of hours on a rotational basis.
Maintain a safe environment for staff and patients.
Participate in equipment selection, purchase, replacement, or upgrading as required.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical, technical, and radiographic developments in general radiography.
Ensure local and national Radiation Protection guidelines are applied at all times.
Apply principles of Justification and Optimisation to every examination undertaken.
Develop and maintain a training function for qualified staff and/or trainees in specialized areas.
Attend meetings as requested by the Radiography Services Manager II, I, and Superintendent I.Support the Radiography Services Manager II, I, and Superintendent I in service development and improvement initiatives.
Quality Assurance:
Take appropriate action regarding complaints, accidents, and incidents in accordance with hospital policy.
Be accountable for the quality of the service provided, including customer service and technical aspects.
Participate in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures.
Be involved in the Radiographer's Quality Assurance Programme and report equipment faults to the RSM I and RSM II.Ensure compliance with Radiation Protection Rules and Regulations.
Understand and comply with all hospital policies on infection control, health, and safety.
Keep the department and work area clean, tidy, and safe.
Pay attention to personal appearance while on duty.

Mandatory:
Candidates for appointment must:
Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU.Have the requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Radiography Division of the Radiographers Register maintained by the Radiographers Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
Annual Registration:
Maintain annual registration on the relevant division of the Radiographers Register.
Confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Health:
Candidates must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office.
Character:
Candidates must be of good character.
Desirable:
Radiographic skills to provide a comprehensive service to patients in the area of assignment.
Working knowledge of radiation protection legislation and guidelines.
Practical application of best practice guidelines and protocols in Radiography.
IT Skills.
