You will provide, under direction, instruction in a variety of areas including, sports, arts, crafts, social skills, cookery depending on Lakers requirements.
Hours of work: 35 hours per week, covering mostly evenings and weekends.
Rate of Pay: TBD (based on experience)
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Research and develop sports and recreational activities.
2. Planning and delivering weekly activities.
3. Provide support and guidance to members, parents, and guardians.
4. Provide support and guidance to volunteers and work experience students.
5. Maintain a professional, helpful learning environment.
6. Assist in developing curriculum and class calendar.
Knowledge and Experience Required
Essential:
7. Experience with children/young people with an intellectual disability
8. Computer literacy
9. Genuine respect and empathy for diversity and individuality.
10. Flexible, responsible, and mature approach to work.
11. Team player
12. Excellent interpersonal skills
13. Approachable and empathetic manner.
14. Ability to work on own initiative and be proactive.
Advantageous:
