Job Summary:
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages while providing exceptional customer service. They ensure the service area is clean, stocked, and operates efficiently, creating a welcoming environment for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to established recipes.
* Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment.
* Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
* Take and process customer orders efficiently and accurately.
* Ensure the café area is clean, organised, and complies with health and safety regulations.
* Handle cash, credit card transactions, and operate the point-of-sale (POS) system.
* Restock supplies, including coffee beans, milk, and other ingredients.
* Assist in training new baristas and maintaining a team-oriented environment.
* Suggest menu items and promotions to enhance guest experience and sales.
* Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar hospitality role preferred.
* Certification in Barista training or coffee preparation (preferred but not mandatory).
* Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to stand for extended periods.
* Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 15 kg.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
