Primary Objective
The financial controller will oversee all accounting functions of the Group. They make sure that all accounting records are appropriately kept and that every reported result complies with accounting standards and legislation. They will prepare financial forecasts, monthly statements, and other regular financial reports.
The FC will contribute to the financial strategy of the Company and will be pivotal in the development of all internal control policies and procedures. They will ensure all financial systems are fit for purpose, are maintained, and can spot any areas for improvement.
They will work closely with the Finance Director and other senior management team members on risk minimization from a finance perspective.
Responsibilities:
* Preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts for a number of trading entities
* Investigating variances and summarizing findings within strict deadlines
* Management of full trial balance of assigned companies, providing analysis of monthly income statement and balance sheet reconciliations for review
* Preparation of accurate and timely monthly Board pack
* Liaison with Group businesses and outsourced service providers to ensure accuracy and completeness of all incoming data, challenging information when necessary
* Assist with production of Group forecasts and annual budgets, including review and analysis
* Foster environment of continuous improvement, particularly with regards to monthly management reports and working papers
* Completion of Group intercompany reconciliations and analysis
* Support in the preparation of the Annual Report and periodic results, including liaison with auditors, as required
* Preparation of weekly and longer-term cashflows
* Overall management of group Debtors and Creditors ledger
* Build team skillset to support finance department structure
Skills/Experience Required
* Qualified accountant with a minimum of 2 years PQE (post qualified experience) with strong academic background
* Experience of team management and development.
* Experience with integrating teams and entities post company acquisitions.
* Exposure of working in a B2B service organization would be advantageous
* Familiarity with Group consolidations is necessary.
* Strong systems skills – operational and implementation experience is preferable.
* Advanced Excel (Pivots, Power BI etc)
* Innovative and commercially-minded with ability to think outside the box
* Strong analysis skills required, including ability to draw meaningful insights to aid commercial and financial decision-making
* High standard of written and verbal English, ability to communicate effectively at all levels and partner with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
