As a Building Inspector you will be joining an architectural practice based in Co Kildare that are seeking to expand their building inspections team. They are a medium sized practice focusing on residential developments with an experienced team made up of architects, architectural technologists and building surveyors. The team has grown steadily over recent years and have a great work culture in the office, though this role will be primarily on site.
Your New Role
As a building inspector you will be working on projects throughout the construction and completion phases. This is a role where you should be comfortable going on sites, dealing with contracts/site managers, inspecting buildings and making sure it is being built to the brief. A personable candidate with great communication skills will excel at this role and with many repeat client business you are expected to maintain and grow relationships on site. You will be working alongside a lead inspector who will train you and show you processes, after which this is a very much autonomous role with only reporting into the office when needed (once or twice a month).
Job Requirements
This role would suit an experienced building surveyor or an experienced architectural technologist that is wanting to make that transition from an office based role to a more site based one. You should have excellent knowledge of Irish Building regulations, DAC and Fire Certs. In interview you should be able to display you site knowledge and performing various type of surveys.
The office is based in Co Kildare, however projects are across the Greater Dublin region. This is a role that can offer real autonomy with plenty of project pipeline in the future. The team has a great dynamic with varied experience and a great work culture to match. The salary for the role will depend on the experience but you can expect it to match your experience. Mileage from site is also paid.
