The Role
The Content & Web team is an organic growth engine and a centre of excellence for digital experiences and content strategy at Square. We’re looking for an Organic Strategy Manager in Ireland to join our Organic Discovery team, reporting into the Global Head of Organic Discovery based in the U.S. This individual will drive the development and implementation of a unified and comprehensive organic discoverability strategy for Square’s European and UK markets, identifying key opportunities across search engines, as well as emerging channels like TikTok and YouTube, and implementing technical programs and requirements.
You Will
1. Identify new opportunities to grow the organic search channel across Europe and the UK and partner cross-functionally to develop and execute plans that deliver impact for the channel.
2. Understand how organic growth initiatives impact other channels and the site as a whole.
3. Work alongside our broader Organic Discovery and Social teams to implement focused tests on emerging channels like YouTube and Tiktok, optimising against algorithms to drive prospect discoverability across relevant markets.
4. Track impact of organic discovery (search and social) initiatives, create and deliver recurring progress reports.
5. Partner with cross-functional colleagues in multiple regions to develop alignment and prioritisation for projects across organic channels.
6. Participate in global content planning by providing insights and opportunities for the UK and European markets and provide feedback during the production process.
7. Coordinate technical SEO efforts and effectively communicate technical SEO aspects to non-technical partners.
8. Work with Product and Engineering teams to implement best practice SEO programs and processes throughout the global organisation.
9. Report to leads across Marketing, ensuring milestones and goals are met and exceeded.
You Have
1. 3+ years of professional experience in SEO with a proven track record of successfully developing and implementing SEO programs and significantly improving Organic Search performance for online businesses.
2. Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
3. Experience working with sites that have multiple locales and languages.
4. Deep understanding of the UK and European markets (Ireland, France and Spain).
5. Ability to QA and understanding of localised copy and content.
6. Advanced understanding of semantic content optimisation practices.
7. Excellent Excel / Google Sheets skills. You frequently use vlookups, sumifs, sumproduct type formulas.
8. Strong data analytics and problem solving skills, as well as excellent attention to detail.
9. Working knowledge of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms and ranking strategies, and passion to stay abreast of news and trends in SEO and digital marketing.
10. Experience working with a number of SEO suites/tools: Searchmetrics, seoClarity, DeepCrawl, Majestic, Screaming Frog, ahrefs, etc.
11. Familiarity with SEO analytics tools: Google/Bing Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, Looker.
