Crowne Plaza is a global chain of full service, upscale hotels headquartered in the United Kingdom. It caters to business travelers and the meetings and conventions market. Since opening in 2012, Arkan Plaza has evolved into West Cairo’s primary commercial and social destination, offering a multitude of retail and dining outlets along with gyms, banks and offices.
Crowne Plaza West Cairo - Arkan is a 178-room new build forming part of Phase II of Arkan Plaza. The hotel is 10 minutes away from the “new” Grand Egyptian Museum and 15 minutes from the Great Pyramids of Giza.
We are currently looking for a Conference and Events Sales Executive to join our amazing team at Crowne Plaza West Cairo – Arkan.
Your day to day:
1. Establish a client base of individuals, organizations, associations, social, and/or corporate businesses through direct outside and inside selling to secure business for the hotel.
2. Actively prospect and qualify new business.
3. Validate the potential of assigned accounts and create account plans as per the IHG standard operating procedures.
4. Grow assigned accounts to meet fixed goals and maximize profitability.
5. Gather information on current and prospective clients to generate incremental business.
6. Maintain effective control of sales expenses.
7. Monitor competitors’ activities and assist in marketing intelligence.
8. Sell to new, existing, and prospective customers considering goals set forth in the sales strategy.
9. Provide feedback to management on changing market conditions, including competition and market trends.
10. Attend and participate in training sessions, daily briefings, and other meetings as required.
11. Conduct client meetings as well as planning and coordinating site introduction tours and inspections.
12. Handle and manage clients’ queries or issues.
13. Be proactive and responsible for following up on new sales leads.
14. Develop and maintain contact with business generators (MICE Planner; travel agents; Corp Accounts etc.).
15. Ensure accurate and timely updating of all relevant activities in the provided Sales System (i.e. Delphi; Opera; etc.).
16. Update Account and Contact profiles, attach Account plans, ensure ‘live’ information for action.
17. Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
What we need from you:
1. Solid computer skills, proficiency in the use of office software products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
2. Excellent ability to communicate effectively in a clear and concise manner in English.
3. Minimum 2 years experience in a similar position in a 5/4-star hotel.
