re:Cycle Reverse Logistics is looking for a Regional Safety Engineer for its facility in Dublin, Ireland. Our mission is to manage and scale information technology asset disposition (ITAD) services for used electronics and electronic equipment (UEEE) through secure and environmentally sustainable practices supporting asset recovery, reuse, recycling, and other circular economy initiatives.
The EHS Compliance team has responsibility for architecting and implementing re:Cycle Reverse Logistics' global health and safety program. This includes:
1. Defining and implementing risk management and compliance systems and driving their continuous improvement;
2. Setting and refining global policies and procedures;
3. Overseeing the development of standards, tools, auditing and metrics, and employee training;
4. Ensuring effective engagement by EHS Compliance team on global initiatives, including those that are part of Amazon's ambitious sustainability goals;
5. Providing subject matter expertise;
6. Engaging with all re:Cycle Reverse Logistics business units to provide scalable and effective health & safety compliance strategies that support current and future business objectives while ensuring employee safety and compliance with health & safety regulations.
Key job responsibilities
1. Support health and safety needs and promote safe work practices at the facility in Dublin, ensuring compliance against regulations and standards both internally and externally.
2. Support the completion of risk assessments for operations occurring at the facility.
3. Investigate incidents and injuries that occur at the facility, perform root cause analysis, and share findings and process improvements resulting from the investigation.
4. Perform inspections/audits to assess facility compliance with health and safety regulations and internal re:Cycle Reverse Logistics policies.
5. Partner with multiple stakeholders, including operations leaders, to address audit findings and ensure appropriate corrective actions are devised in compliance with policy.
6. Deliver recommendations and risk interpretations in a clear, concise and audience-specific format to stakeholders, business customers, and senior leadership.
7. Establish credibility and maintaining strong working relationships with groups involved with operational practices and compliance matters.
8. Understand health and safety regulatory requirements and be able to support compliance systems and programs around these requirements.
9. Closely coordinate with the EHS Compliance team and stakeholder teams to identify, evaluate and mitigate identified hazards within work processes and internal business to business operations.
10. Be passionate about using data and scientific literature to facilitate and drive business decisions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or related field of study or 4+ years of equivalent working experience in lieu of a safety degree.
2. 3+ years of occupational safety and health or equivalent experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with senior leaders.
2. Excellent organizational and project management skills.
3. Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization.
4. Strong analytical skills with project management experience.
5. Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
6. Travel estimated at 25% across Ireland and internationally.
