Financial Processes & Accounts
We are seeking a skilled Staff Officer Accountant to support our client's Senior Corporate Services Officer.
* Manage financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable;
* Prepare the Statutory Annual Accounts;
* Maintain the client's financial management framework and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead daily financial operations;
* Collaborate with management to monitor income and expenditure;
* Produce monthly financial reports;
* Assist with purchasing and procurement;
* Ensure timely invoice processing and effective controls;
* Provide pension and ad hoc reports to the external payroll provider;
* Maintain and develop internal control systems;
* Support funding, bids preparation and control;
* Review and develop financial systems and policies;
* Identify resource needs and prepare business cases;
* Participate in project work and training.
Requirements:
* Accounting qualification with 3 years' experience, including accounts processing, statutory returns, and audits;
* Experience of preparing annual accounts and working with auditors;
* Proficiency in financial IT systems (e.g., Sage) and Microsoft Office;
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and attention to detail;
* The ability to work independently, in a team, and take leadership when necessary;
* Experience in corporate governance and risk management, or public sector finance experience.
