As an M&E Coordinator with Kilcawley Construction, you will report directly to a Contracts Manager and assist Project Managers on projects to effectively procure, manage, and handover mechanical and electrical subcontractor scope as part of larger building projects. The role involves actively participating in the safe, timely execution of the works in accordance with project budgetary, programme, and quality requirements.
General Responsibilities
1. Support the Contracts Manager and Project Managers to effectively deliver mechanical and electrical services on large building projects with values from EUR3m to EUR20m.
2. Act as the first point of contact for M&E subcontractors and the Design Team on queries.
3. Chair fortnightly meetings with M&E contractors to discuss programme and progress.
4. Sense check M&E RFIs and submittals, maintaining updated logs.
5. Maintain oversight of commissioning progress/programme, particularly regarding safety-critical systems required for Practical Completion.
6. Snagging of M&E installations and recording on iPad App.
7. Coordinate BIM activities of M&E services across contractors and CSA packages, and produce M&E installation drawings as required.
8. Produce builders works (BwIC) drawings for service openings through walls and floors as needed.
Health and Safety Responsibilities
1. Ensure safety-critical mechanical and electrical installations are fully functional prior to handing over a building to a Client.
2. Deliver works in the safest manner possible, with support from the Site Manager, H&S Advisor, and Contracts Manager, in compliance with all legislative requirements.
3. Assist M&E contractors on site to execute works as per their approved method statement & risk assessment.
4. Report all safety incidents and/or accidents to the Safety Advisor & Company Directors per company protocols.
5. Help the company achieve the goal of Zero Harm on all worksites for all workers and third parties.
Technical/Quality Responsibilities
1. Full responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple projects from both a time scale and commercial perspective.
2. Ensure projects are delivered on time and snag-free to the satisfaction of the Client.
3. Possess a good technical understanding of HVAC systems, fire alarm systems, lighting and emergency systems, LTHW systems, electrical distribution, and commissioning of integrated building systems.
4. Coordinate with Contracts Manager, Site Engineers, and Services Coordinator to ensure timely and accurate information for subcontractors and site personnel.
5. Resolve unexpected technical difficulties and problems that arise on site.
6. Ensure all materials and work performed meet specification and drawing requirements.
7. Ensure subcontractors execute works per their approved Inspection and Testing Plans.
Management Responsibilities
1. Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day M&E subcontractor and Design Team queries.
2. Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce to ensure timely completion of projects.
3. Familiarize yourself with contract documents supplied by the Client/architect.
4. Monitor progress against the Contract Programme and escalate any potential delays to the Site Manager.
5. Assist in the production and revision of contract and sub-programmes with the Contracts Manager & Planner.
6. Act professionally at all times while protecting the business's position.
