Job Summary As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will plan, lead, and manage engineering and cloud services programs. You will lead a team of developers and QA engineers to implement, test and deliver high quality additions to our Cloud Volumes Service product in collaboration with our partners at Microsoft.
Responsibilities will include: A major part of your responsibility will be to provide direction and supervision to the group or groups of engineers responsible for the end-to end delivery of features.
Utilise previously acquired technical experience to become actively involved in day-to-day projects to meet schedules and resolve problems.
Take responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
Communicate status, key issues, and changes to leadership.
Suggest and initiate process improvements as needed.
Job Requirements Run a scrum-like team, scheduling and tackling work items and conducting sprint-like reviews. You must demonstrate leadership and vision in determining and driving both tactical and strategic decisions. Be responsible for unstructured tasks and will need new perspectives and creative approaches. Show initiative and good judgement in preventing problems and proposing solutions to identified issues. Manage workloads, set priorities, and drive results independently. Work collaboratively with a distributed global team to meet aggressive goals while responding to changing business and technical conditions. Managing staffing, development, and performance management programs for the engineering team. Take the lead for the Cloud Volumes teams at the International Headquarters in Cork. Education Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills. Ability to prioritise and address multiple projects concurrently. 15+ years of experience preferred, ideally including a role in management with at least 5+ years in people management. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Must have developed applications using C# or Golang. Working with Azure/AWS or GCP is a major advantage. The target salary range for this position is 116,875 - 151,250 EUR. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
