The appointed person will be required to provide and maintain a comprehensive infection control service within the Mater Hospital.
The post-holder will work as a member of the Infection Prevention and Control Team providing specialist infection control advice, support, and expertise to all healthcare staff and participate in staff education programmes.
The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the peripheral venous catheter/central venous catheter (PVC/CVC) best practice guidance, care bundle implementation, audit, and monitoring process for CVC and PVC, education and training, incident review process, and monitoring insertion practices as appropriate.
Responsibilities include surveillance and auditing of infection control practices, the development and implementation of policies, guidelines and procedures, and participating and conducting research.
