Our client, a prominent leader in the Medical Device industry, is seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join their growing organisation. As the Management Accountant, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership, contributing to the company's financial performance and strategic direction. This position will lead financial planning, reporting, and operational initiatives to enhance profitability, efficiency, and cash flow, while supporting the company's long-term vision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development and execution of financial strategies to drive profitability, efficiency, and productivity across the finance function and business units.
2. Manage weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reporting, comparing results against budget and operational objectives for all business units.
3. Oversee both short-term and long-term financial planning to support the company's growth trajectory.
4. Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives to achieve targeted financial goals.
5. Improve cash flow, pricing models, and cost-saving processes, ensuring waste reduction across all areas.
6. Participate in and lead operational initiatives, system upgrades, and efficiency improvements.
7. Manage the Manufacturing Finance Plan, ensuring departmental accountability and adherence to financial targets.
8. Prepare accurate product and project margin reports for senior management review.
9. Regularly engage with cross-functional leadership to align site-level priorities with overall company objectives.
10. Foster constructive working relationships with key departments, resolving workflow challenges to achieve optimal outcomes for customers, employees, and stakeholders.
Key Competencies and Qualifications:
1. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in industry.
2. Strong leadership and people management skills.
3. Proven track record of driving P&L, budgeting, and key organisational metrics within a multi-plant manufacturing environment.
4. Demonstrated success in improving operational performance and delivering tangible business results.
5. Self-motivated, proactive, and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating across all levels of the organisation.
8. Strategic thinker with a hands-on, operational focus and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
9. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
10. Proficiency in IT systems, including ERP systems (SAP or equivalent), is highly desirable.
