Mechanical Engineer - Meath Job Opportunity Meath Manufacturing Mechanical Design A manufacturing company in Meath designs, manufactures and markets agriculture tractor Pick-Up Hitch and construction excavator Quick Coupler technologies.
They are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer reporting to the Engineering Projects Manager.
The Design Engineer will provide Engineering services to lead and support New Product Development and Continuous Improvement projects on our construction product line.
Full-time Mechanical Design Engineer Mechanical Design Engineer Key tasks & Responsibilities will include: Design of products for the construction product line this includes but is not limited to quick couplers & tilting quick couplers.
Taking a design from concept right through to production following the (New Product Introduction) process.
Carrying out FEA studies on both new and existing products.
Working with key customers to deliver projects & address technical queries.
Communicating with suppliers on technical queries.
Input to, and driver of Innovation and New Product Development activities.
Review of and input to IP (Intellectual Property) activities.
Implementing design changes through Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
Problem solving.
Project managing the production of prototype product through the manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate will have: A minimum Level 7 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
A minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication & technical reporting skills.
Good time management skills and ability to organise workload.
Good problem-solving ability with strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to integrate quickly into a team environment and work on own initiative.
Good basic understanding of the principles of hydraulics would be a distinct advantage.
Previous experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) would be an advantage.
