Job Purpose
Quantum are seeking a proactive and experienced Health and Safety Manager to oversee all aspects of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across our construction sites. The successful candidate will ensure that all projects adhere to legal and company safety standards, fostering a culture of safety across the business.
Key Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Health & Safety Compliance
* Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in line with HSE legislation and industry best practices.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant Irish health and safety laws, including risk assessments, method statements (RAMS) etc.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
* Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing preventative measures.
Training & Development
* Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks for site workers and management.
* Ensure employees and subcontractors are aware of their health and safety responsibilities.
* Keep up to date with the latest HSE training and legislation, advising management on necessary changes.
Risk Management & Reporting
* Carry out and update risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safe systems of work.
* Ensure all safety documentation is accurate and up to date.
* Provide detailed safety reports to senior management, advising on best practices and areas of improvement.
Site Engagement & Safety Culture
* Promote a positive safety culture, encouraging worker engagement in health and safety matters.
* Work closely with site managers, project managers, and contractors to ensure a safe working environment.
* Implement initiatives to reduce accidents, injuries, and occupational health risks.
Qualifications, Key Skills & Competencies
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a construction-based health and safety role.
* Strong knowledge of Regulations, HSE guidelines, and relevant Irish legislation.
* Experience conducting risk assessments, site inspections, and accident investigations.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and engage staff.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and health and safety reporting software.
* Full driving license and willingness to travel to various sites.
