The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing effective transport and delivery schedules. You will liaise with production, drivers, and customers in order to ensure timelines are being met and advise of any delays. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be given the opportunity to learn via a blend of practical and personal development experiences such as:
1. On the job learning focused on Kilsaran processes and activities that you will experience and actively participate in.
2. Tailored learning through internal or external resources.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan the most effective daily transport and delivery schedules.
2. Process orders received via telephone, email, fax, face-to-face or via Sales Team.
3. Prepare delivery dockets, schedule and allocate drivers to deliveries.
4. Responsible for the delivery of the right products and quantity of material to customers.
5. Ensure all customer orders are delivered within agreed time-frame.
6. Maintain daily shipping records.
7. Prepare and maintain all relevant paperwork for payment transactions.
8. Ensure ongoing effective communication with drivers, customers, production, and sales.
9. Understand and achieve specific targets regarding utilization of trucks, costs, and empty journeys.
10. Manage instructions to drivers with regards to their working hours, breaks, and rest periods.
And the Skills We Need From You:
1. Strong knowledge of systems/detailed administration.
2. You should have a flair for prioritizing, scheduling, and logical thinking.
3. You should have fantastic communication skills both written and verbal.
4. Experience working in a Dispatch Office or a customer service environment is a bonus.
5. You'll also need the confidence to highlight issues or process improvements to ensure we continue to provide the best possible service to our customers.
