Activities Coordinator Portlaoise
This role is part of the Orpea Group Ireland, located in Port Laoise, County Laois.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for our residents by providing engaging activities and opportunities for them to express their creativity and artistic potential in a supportive environment.
Main Responsibilities:
* Social Activity Planning: Identify the social activity preferences of each resident and maintain individual social activity plans to ensure their needs are met.
* Programme Delivery: Plan and facilitate daily social activity programmes with external providers, ensuring maximum value for our residents.
* Care Staff Motivation: Encourage care staff to be actively involved in delivering the social activity programme, promoting a collaborative approach.
* Rapport Building: Develop positive relationships with relatives/friends of residents where appropriate, keeping them informed about their loved one's well-being and activities.
* Staff Awareness: Ensure all staff are aware of planned activities, promoting a sense of community and inclusivity.
* Volunteer Management: Manage volunteers professionally, recognizing their valuable contribution to our residents' lives.
* Staying Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of new developments in care of older persons' social activity programmes, ensuring we provide the best possible experience for our residents.
* Community Links: Establish connections with the local community, encouraging involvement and participation in our activities.
* Ambassador Role: Act as an ambassador for the Nursing Home at all times, promoting a positive image and representing our organization with pride.

Requirements:
* Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as an Activity Co-ordinator (preferably in a nursing home setting).
* Language: Fluency in English (required).
* Work Authorisation: Eligibility to work in Ireland (required).
* Location: Based in Portlaoise, County Laois, with flexibility to work on a rotating weekend roster.
