Summary of the Business: The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government.
It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing for the Exchequer and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority, the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, the National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund.
In addition, the NTMA assigns staff and provides services to the National Asset Management Agency, the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland and Home Building Finance Ireland (together the "Affiliate Agencies").
Role Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for talented and motivated graduates to join the ISIF division of the NTMA on a 24-month Associate Programme commencing in September 2025.
The programme is open to graduates with a degree in Business and Commerce or a related discipline
ISIF Summary:
The Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) sources and completes investments on a commercial basis in a manner designed to support economic activity and employment in Ireland.
ISIF's strategy focuses on long-term transformational investments addressing key strategic challenges facing the country. These include climate action, housing and enabling infrastructure, scaling indigenous businesses, and food and agriculture. Within the ISIF unit there are three distinct functions / teams:
Investment, Portfolio Management and Operations.
This role will be part of the ISIF Operations team which covers an extensive range of activities, managing all the non-investment aspects of the ISIF including: strategy coordination; delivering and managing change, projects and systems; resource management; marketing and communications; finance; and enterprise risk in conjunction with key stakeholders in the wider NTMA such as Risk, Internal Audit, IT, Compliance, Procurement, Facilities, Company Secretariat and strategic ISIF communications & outreach with NTMA communications.
The Associate will be required to work alongside all colleagues across the full range of ISIF activities.
The Associate will support the ISIF Operations team through day-to-day duties including but not limited to, the below tasks: Liaising with NTMA Finance in relation to financial and management reporting matters (including budgets, forecasts and recharges), external audits and Service Level Agreement deliverables.
Assisting with the co-ordination of relevant ISIF internal audits.
Assisting with the regular updating and maintenance of the ISIF risk register and the logging of operational risk events (as required) on the Enterprise Risk system, keeping NTMA Risk informed as appropriate.
Assisting in the delivery of ISIF Communications and Marketing strategy across all channels and platforms and including ISIF event management.
Involvement in key ISIF Change projects and improvement initiatives including in relation to the replacement of the existing ISIF Portfolio Management System and the implementation of the IT enterprise architecture - assisting on the project management, testing, training slides, documentation etc Assisting with Business Continuity Management in ISIF, liaising with key NTMA stakeholders to ensure that appropriate planning, documentation and testing is performed and up-to-date.
Delivery of high impact presentations to key internal and external stakeholders Liaise with other the other teams within ISIF and the broader NTMA such as NTMA HR, Risk, Legal, IT, Finance and Communications and the other support functions that are critical to the success of the ISIF.
At the end of the programme the successful Associate will have developed a solid knowledge base of ISIF Operations and the wider NTMA.
