Your new role
As a CNC Lathe Programmer, you will be required to interpret engineering drawings, have knowledge of tolerances and engineering symbols. You will operate, set, and program CNC lathes with Fanuc control. You will produce components to the required specification, safely, efficiently, and accurately to ensure production requirements are met. You will carry out first inspections, including first-off inspection using gauges and measuring instruments as well as periodic inspections in batch quantities. You will maintain stock levels required for your work, reporting future requirements to your manager promptly. You will maintain your machine in good working order, reporting faults to your manager as necessary. You will operate gantries as required and work with others in a cooperative manner to ensure an efficient and harmonious atmosphere. You will ensure that your production time is allocated to the correct job and perform any other duties as required from time to time by management that are within your competence to carry out.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be required to have a sound knowledge of CNC controls and Fanuc language, a good understanding of mechanical engineering and machining principles, and the ability to work as part of a team. Problem-solving skills for complex operations and good communication with the manager and colleagues are essential. You should also be able to organize your work activities to make the best use of your time.
