Rustic Honey specializes in cafes and cakes. We operate a cafe and wholesale bakery (on separate sites). Our brand is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and quality produce. We are hiring an experienced general manager to manage our day time cafe. A love for the cafe culture is paramount for this role.
The role oversees all aspects of the café's operations. This includes: managing a team of up to 10 staff, greeting and serving customers, selling food and drinks, hiring and scheduling staff, menu planning, ordering, dealing with suppliers and stock control. The manager will liaise with owners to monitor budgets, and work to improve profit margins.
Responsibilities:
* The General Manager will lead the team in ensuring the cafe operates to its maximum potential
* Carry out the day to day operations of the cafe including working alongside the Head Chef
* Implement HACCP systems, ensure all standards and regulations are adhered to
* Introducing SOP's to the cafe. Improve systems and technique within the cafe
* Serving and training staff in speciality coffee
* Hiring new team members - carry out trials and training
* Leading the front and back of house teams in ensuring service runs smoothly
* Build the team through training and development
* Ensuring great sales and profit. Being innovative by suggesting new ways to deliver sales and business growth
* Till operations, cash handling and closing the till at the end of each day
* Always ensures customer satisfaction and product quality
* Dealing with customer complaints and queries
Experience:
* 2+ years of managerial experience in a similar fast paced environment
* Customer service experience
* 1+ year of Barista training, more specifically speciality coffee
* Experience in hiring, training and developing staff
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* The ideal candidate will be somebody who is passionate, inspired and excited about the cafe culture who can contribute to the growth and development of our brand
* Ability to manage store operations independently and work on own initiative.
* Ability to manage the team effectively during busy and quiet times
* Strong Leadership skills to drive the team to optimum performance
* Deep knowledge of customer service techniques and ability to express these to staff
* Strong operational skills in a customer-service environment
* Communication and teaching skills
* Keen eye for detail
