The Assistant Store Manager assists in customer service, merchandising, and inventory-related actions to drive sales and results. They provide a shopping experience that satisfies the customer's functional and emotional needs. The Assistant Store Manager partners with the management team to understand daily/weekly/monthly store priorities. They participate in merchandise placement, fulfillment, and store recovery. Assistant Store Managers monitor associate compliance to all company policies and procedures, adhere to Asset Protection standards, and assist in assigned projects and tasks to support service levels which include opening and closing the store.
Key Responsibilities:
* Elevate In-Store Experience by modeling behaviors, coaching associate behaviors, and responding to customer requests with a high sense of urgency.
* Maintain DSW store standards, ensuring customers have a positive experience.
* Achieve and exceed metric-based goals by reviewing, understanding, and communicating daily/weekly/monthly goals.
* Review daily communication, plan and assign tasks, and follow through with required actions.
* Supervise Leads in inventory management activities, including freight receipt, placement, markdown, and MOOS.
* Responsible for all omni activities, including Charge/Send, BOPIS/BOSTS, and Delivery.
* Leverage inventory reports to maximize productivity and merchandise presentation.
* Ensure a safe environment for customers and associates, and maintain supply inventory.
* Perform and maintain all information related to audits, donations, transfers, mismates, damages, etc.
* Support the Store Manager in bringing DSW's Mission, Vision & Strategy to life in the store.
* Work closely with the Store Manager to understand and follow policy and procedure.
* Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of candidates.
* Support team by training, coaching, directing associates, and communicating development feedback.
* Assist the Store Manager in resolving associate relations matters.
* Participate in the Performance Review process by writing and conducting Associate and Leads performance reviews.
* Support team in managing payroll and associate timekeeping activities.
* Recognize associates through company recognition tools.
