Technical Manager
We are currently recruiting for a Field Quality Excellence Business Partner/Technical Manager who will offer their Branch full FQE support and guidance whilst compliantly maintaining the required independence required by the FQE organisation.They will work with the Branch Director (Dotted Line) to form a close working relationship and to be fully engaged in SAIS, CPSI5, Safety & Field Support resourcing and support activities.They can offer 2nd level technical support only with direct collaboration through the HQ FQE support functions, the FQE Business Partners additionally offer 1st level support through SAIS, CPSI 5 and Field Support. In their condition of 1st and 2nd level, the FQE Business Partners are also direct reports of the KG Level - Field Support & Product Safety Managers as part of the FQE organization and the hot-lines from other Group entities which could be considered the 3rd level (technical specialists from Group FQE, WIF, TRD and KWs).These entities are is in principle the highest level of support and therefore no further escalation is possible.The FQE Business Partners can also act as a consultant for the Branch on Technical, Standards & Code related issues.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitor and understand the Safety SIS system and process
Support the Branch in all SAIS related Technical, Allocation & Compliance tasks. This will involve ensuring only the correctly certified SAIS Inspectors conduct SAIS on each product line.
Support the Branch in all CPSI5 related Technical, Allocation & Compliance tasks. This will also involve the planning and allocation of CPSI5 Inspections with SL’s within the Branch.
Support the Branch in NI/EI/Mod Technical Support as required within the Branch.
Support the Branch in maintaining Safety standards, monitoring the safety SIS system and process.
Answer phone calls from the Branch escalating complex issues where they have difficulties to get them solved.
Travel to site when the escalated issues can't be solved remotely.
Provide Technical support to the sales force and service leaders when bidding for Branch NI/MOD jobs or a complex service contract which demands more than the usual know how in the sales force. The FQE Business Partners may even attend the meetings with the customers in special cases, take on-site measurements, keep contact with the MDC to ensure proper clarifications to prepare a wining offer.
Serve as a source of experience to the rest of the Branch in Technical & Field Support issues to ensure they are used to feed the continuous improvement cycle.
Technical support to the Branch sales force and the service leaders in complex installations and complex EI or MOD jobs respectively.
Support the Branch sales force and service leaders in discussions with the customer (from a technical point of view).
Support the sales force, by taking or arranging on-site measurements for complex installations.
Check specifications of complex NI or MOD tenders/contracts.
Feed the Training Control System with inputs to allow Human Resources Training to monitor the Annual Plan and perform analysis of the effectiveness of the technical training.
Optimize Top ten and sick units’ processes
Arrange for or Inspect complex DLFI which do not require SAIS
Arrange for or Inspect complex repairs which do not require SAIS
All employees are required to work in accordance with established Company Occupational Health Safety and Environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements.
Employees must comply with Company Health & Safety requirements and set a personal example of safe behaviour.
Employees will be required to contribute to the Company safety objectives, where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to Schindler Ltd occupational health and safety management system.
Candidate Requirements:
Technical Schindler Master Instructor
Extensive knowledge of Schindler Products and services. (Lifts & Escalators)
Expert Knowledge of SAIS process. Elevators and Escalators
Expert knowledge of CPSI5 process.
Expert knowledge in an EI / MOD environment
Expert knowledge in a NI environment
Expert in Fault finding and diagnosis
Expert in commissioning
Expert in TRD
Capable and competent in report writing
Certified in Schindler technical discipline
Schindler Master Instructor on Schindler systems, sub systems and architecture
Capable and confident to deliver technical training
Preferable to be NVQ4 qualified
Knowledge of safety SIS system and process
Able to perform safety assessments (NGFE trained)
NGFE Master trainers.
