Job Title: Part-time Research Assistant Cyber Safety
(14 hours per week)
About the Role
The goal of the Cyber Safety Team is to improve cyber-safety for vulnerable members of society through tailored security supports and guidance. We aim to ensure minority groups are not more vulnerable to cyber-attacks due to differences in ability.
Our challenge is to provide vulnerable populations with guidance to interact securely and confidently in our increasingly digital world.
Location and Department
This role is based within the Cyber Explore Research Group at Nimbus Research Centre, Munster Technological University (MTU).
The group collaborates with vulnerable populations, small businesses, and multinational organisations to develop accessible and equitable security solutions.
Main Duties
* Contribute to the strategic direction for the Cyber Safety Research Team.
* User studies to understand how users interact with digital products and services.
* Qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
* Contribution to the writing of end-of-project reports and subsequent funding proposals.
* Development of solutions for identified user needs.
* Test and iteratively improve these solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
Requirements and Selection Criteria
An appropriate third-level qualification at QQI level 8 honours degree or equivalent is required. Experience working with vulnerable populations and existing cybersecurity or user design knowledge are also essential.
