About Perfuze
Perfuze is a growth stage medical device company, based in Galway, dedicated to improving the quality of life for stroke patients. Perfuze is developing innovative catheter-based technology to extract blood clots from the brain following an Acute Ischemic Stroke. We are located in the IDA Business Park in Dangan, Galway. Millipede technology has been recognised by the FDA through the granting of a Breakthrough Device Designation and was awarded CE Mark in 2021. At Perfuze, we push the limits of what medical technology can do to help restore health and extend life. Our mission is to halve the number of patients who suffer disability post stroke treatment. NPI Engineer Role
As an NPI Engineer you will be a key member of the engineering team working within a multidisciplinary framework. This role will be involved in technology advancement projects including but not limited to developing new manufacturing processes, device concepts, and validating new technology and methods. This work will focus on the development and manufacture of catheter-based technology to treat ischemic stroke. In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to both manufacturing and device design and development.
How You’ll Contribute
1. Development of new methods of device manufacture.
2. Rapidly prototype product and fixture concepts in-house - using standard catheter building equipment and techniques such as 3D printing.
3. Modelling and analysis of mechanical systems using SolidWorks or similar software.
4. Work with medical device polymers within a catheter manufacturing environment.
5. Conceive, develop and improve manufacturing processes for proof-of-concept, verification and validation testing.
6. Design, build and document novel neurovascular catheter-based technology.
7. Support and manage efforts to verify and validate new product designs.
8. Identify and interact with vendors to obtain engineering materials, processes, and equipment.
Must Have
1. Degree in Engineering.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the medical device industry.
3. A hands-on mindset.
4. Demonstrated ability to rapidly prototype product and fixture concepts using standard equipment and techniques such as 3D printing.
5. Modelling and analysis of mechanical systems using SolidWorks or similar.
6. Experience of working with medical device polymers.
7. Strong aptitude for process verification and validation, process development and implementation.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to others in different functions and at various levels.
9. Must enjoy contributing to and participating in a dynamic team environment.
10. Commitment to ongoing personal development to improve technical and non-technical skillsets.
11. Stay current with general engineering knowledge related to catheter design and prototyping techniques.
