Due to ongoing expansion, we are inviting applications for a full-time Design Engineer to join our team here in PRO Stainless.
General Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Design Engineering Supervisor, the ideal candidate's roles and responsibilities will include the following tasks as well as other pertinent tasks as assigned by organisation leadership. The successful candidate will be designing structural platforms and stairs and/or high-end furniture for the Bio Pharmaceutical industry.
1. Communicate / Liaise with Customer and External Engineers to ensure that company approved (and costed) designs are adhered to. Inform Commercial Engineers of any deviation from this so that agreement can be made with Customer regarding costs.
2. Liaise with Site Installers to always ensure smooth Installation of job.
3. Be aware of the design budget for each project and can work within that budget.
4. Communicate / Liaise with External Design Contractors (if any are being used) on a particular job.
5. Ensure compliance with all ISO9000, EN1090 & CE marking related paperwork.
6. Work well together with your design colleagues as part of a team (or individually) sharing any new ideas or innovations that may help on other jobs.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
1. Either a 3rd level Engineering Degree or have obtained the relevant industry/manufacturing experience.
2. Ability to read and understand drawings, engineering specifications, BoQs and schedules.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow through on projects.
5. Experience in structural steel and sheet metal design.
6. Proficiency in a 3D drawing package either Advanced Steel, Inventor, Tekla or an equivalent package.
7. A good knowledge of BIM packages like Navisworks would be an advantage.
8. A good understanding of Design for Manufacture.
9. Have good computer proficiency including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Office 365, etc.
10. Display a proactive flexible approach to working within a team environment.
11. Ability to self-manage, be self-motivated and deliver to project milestones.
12. Innovative problem-solving skills.
13. Professional verbal and written communication.
