Warehouse Operations Manager
Morgan McKinley is delighted to partner with a leading bespoke distribution company based in West Dublin as they seek to hire a new Warehouse Operations Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to lead the warehouse team into a growth phase within the organisation.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a team of 30+ employees within the warehouse and will have direct reports, including the Warehouse Manager and Supervisors.
We are seeking someone with a strong people management record and project management background, who can drive strategic objectives and set annual targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor and develop operational performance standards across the warehouse.
* Set objectives for staff and departments (Goods In, Despatch, Stock Control) and conduct regular appraisals to review performance.
* Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and continuous development throughout the business.
* Lead regular management review meetings to drive continuous improvement.
* Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety regulations, maintaining adherence to all relevant legislation.
* Oversee supplier operational compliance in line with company policies.
* Manage and control operational overheads effectively.
* Ensure systems are optimized, scalable, and future-proof.
* Oversee tendering and monitoring of transportation contracts for the Ireland region.
* Manage and review the utilization of external storage facilities.
* Attend and contribute to operational group meetings.
* Maintain and adapt warehouse racking and systems as needed.
* Propose and justify operational capital expenditures.
* Oversee forklift procurement and leasing in line with company policy.
* Source and implement sustainable packaging solutions.
* Develop and execute a business plan focusing on key objectives for the year.
* Support the development and implementation of drop-ship facilities.
* Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to operational, financial, and service-level objectives set by the Group.
* Represent the company professionally at all times.
Requirements

* In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
* Confidence in negotiating with staff, customers, and suppliers.
* Excellent communication and people management skills.
* Enthusiasm for new operational developments and innovations.
* Proficiency in IT systems and financial acumen.
* Strong commercial awareness.
