Experience Farming Life on the Wild Atlantic Way (Ireland)
Enjoy farming in nature at the seaside on the wild west coast of Ireland. Our farm is in a highly scenic setting.
Overview: We welcome you to experience life in our laid-back seaside village, which becomes a lively hub throughout the Summer.
You will have an amazing experience helping on our sheep farm at any time of the year or assisting at our horse stables and trekking center during the Summer months. It is important that you are comfortable with manual farm tasks and have good initiative. If you're interested, get in touch!

Throughout the year, tasks on the farm vary, but some constant elements include herding sheep for medical examinations and managing their health and welfare. Springtime is busy with animal care, especially during lambing season in April. In May and June, we also harvest peat for Winter fuel.
In Summer, hand shearing takes place, and we provide training for those interested in learning this skill. We also run a stables for horse riding and trekking, which involves looking after tourists and horses.
September is a lovely time on the farm with many activities leading up to Christmas.

We have an independent accommodation unit beside the farmhouse with two bedrooms, a sitting room with an open fire, a toilet and shower, and a kitchen with appliances. This is right beside the seaside. Volunteers cook for themselves.
Getting There
Generally, fly into Dublin. Get an airport bus to Heuston Train Station, then take the train to Westport, followed by a bus from Westport to Achill.
Males & Females welcome. Couples and families are not accommodated. Pets are not allowed.
There is always activity on the farm, regardless of the time of year you choose to come.
