Title: Principal Environmental Scientist
Location: Hybrid in Cork but additional locations in Ireland are also available
Please note: Previous work experience in a similar position in Ireland is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a wide range of environmental projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
* Provide expert advice on environmental planning, sustainability, and compliance strategies.
* Collaborate with clients, regulatory authorities, and stakeholders to develop sustainable solutions.
* Prepare and review technical environmental reports, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
* Conduct environmental audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
* Mentor and support junior team members, fostering professional growth and development.
* Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
* Stay up to date with evolving environmental legislation and industry trends to inform project strategies.
* Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing, client presentations, and networking events.
* Represent the organization at client meetings, public consultations, and regulatory engagements.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum of 8 years' experience in the environmental sector.
* A bachelor's degree (BSc or BA Hons) in environmental science or a related discipline.
* Strong knowledge of EU and Irish environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee complex and multidisciplinary projects.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
* Exceptional communication and report-writing skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a strong understanding of environmental considerations within pharmaceutical operations.
* Membership or Chartered Status with a relevant professional body.
