POSITION SUMMARY
Jigsaw clinicians provide short-term therapeutic supports to young people aged 12-25 who experience mild to moderate mental health difficulties. This involves one-to-one work with the young person, and sometimes their family members as well. Our clinicians come from diverse professional backgrounds in social work, occupational therapy, mental health nursing, psychology, and psychotherapy. They work in transdisciplinary teams at one of our 15 services across the country. Clinicians support young people's goals in a collaborative, respectful, and evidence-informed manner using their unique training, experience, and skills.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Cork service.
This role involves daily interactions with young people and the public. Occasional home working is available based on responsibilities and the needs of the service and young people.

Jigsaw believes in intervening early with mental health difficulties, offering a therapeutic service at primary care level. Our network provides free, confidential support to young people aged 12-25 from mental health professionals. We also advocate for a holistic view of the individual, integrated with their life contexts.
Youth voice is central to our work. We involve young people, listen to them, and give them a voice in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating our services and supports.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct initial mental health assessments with young people focusing on strengths and difficulties.
2. Provide evidence-informed brief therapeutic interventions to young people.
3. Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management plans as necessary.
4. Participate in clinical supervision and line management for support and guidance.
5. Work according to Jigsaw policies, procedures, and guidelines.
6. Attend case management meetings, team meetings, and other meetings as required.
7. Liaise and consult with other professionals to support young people's mental health.
8. Fulfill obligations under the Children First Act 2015 and comply with the Jigsaw Child Protection and Welfare policy.
9. Maintain accurate, confidential records of practice using the Jigsaw Data System.
10. Share information with the Jigsaw Clinical Manager, Service Manager, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
11. Contribute to research, audit, and evaluation of the service as needed.
12. Maintain professional and personal boundaries.
13. Engage in outreach work as required.
REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential Criteria:
1. Hold a Doctorate or equivalent in psychology and/or be a Chartered Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist through PSI.
2. Be a registered mental health nurse with An Bord Altranais.
3. Be a registered social worker with CORU.
4. Be a registered occupational therapist with CORU.
5. Be a psychotherapist accredited by the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP) or the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).
Desirable Criteria:
1. Experience working in health and social care settings supporting people with mental health needs.
2. Experience working therapeutically with young people aged 12-25.
3. Experience applying core clinical/therapeutic skills in mental health roles/settings.
4. Experience delivering evidence-informed mental health interventions.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Strong time management skills and ability to manage a busy workload.
7. Capacity to work co-operatively as part of a team.
8. Competency in MS office, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
BENEFITS
The salary range for this role will be €37,000 - €57,200, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
