Job Summary
The successful candidate will lead a regional team responsible for implementing wide area networks to support Amazon's fulfillment infrastructure, which ships millions of customer orders. The role requires effective communication with team members in disparate locations and driving circuit installation timelines.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as manager of a regional team responsible for data and voice circuit implementation.
* Evaluate and ensure that circuit sizing, installation, and augmentation processes meet Amazon's IT and internal Engineering guidelines.
* Act as second-level escalation for Network Delivery team members, internal customers, and vendors.
* Develop and review policy documents, drive process efficiencies, and validate spending transaction approvals.
* Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve work performance for the regional Network Delivery team.
* Capture and report on cost savings related to projects, billing, and service credits.
* Sources new service providers and facilitates contract negotiations between legal and vendors.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain oversight into new launches, retrofits, and other bandwidth-impacting initiatives.
* Organize and attend Vendor Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to discuss challenges and improvements.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
* Experience in people management and development.
* Program management experience with a focus on vendor management.
* Excellent command of English language.
* Experience leading metric-based QBRs.
* Strong knowledge of telecommunication technologies.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities.
* Ability to escalate problems and coordinate with geographically dispersed support groups.
* Exceptional customer focus and bias for action.
* Business process improvement skills.
* Ability to interact with C-level vendor professionals.
* Lean management and continuous improvement experience.
* Knowledge of global connectivity regulations.
* Strong written communication skills.
