Senior Process Development Engineer - Medical Device Development (Contract) I am looking for a freelance contractor who is available to take on new projects for a Global Medical device company to assist in developing new processes relating to additive manufacturing. Purpose: To provide support in the creation and development of new medical device products, both invasive and non-invasive, with a focus on additive manufacturing. This role involves collaborating with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to seamlessly integrate new products, equipment, or processes into production.Responsibilities:Essential Skills: Experience in Powder Blending and Powder Sampling relating to Additive Manufacturing processesResearch, develop, design, and evaluate mechanical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes, and equipmentDevelop new concepts from initial design through to market releaseTechnical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling, and/or automation.Assist the Process Development group in designing new equipment for new products and manufacturing.Work closely with machine vendors to ensure equipment is designed, built, and tested according to specifications, and properly handed over to manufacturingEquipment validation experience (IQ, OQ, PQ)Demonstrate strong knowledge and application of Lean methodologies and process improvement tools to identify and eliminate waste and develop efficient, cost-effective equipment and processes. Desirable:Experience with metal additive manufacturing and/or 3D printing is beneficialKnowledge of CNC code or CAD/CAM is beneficialExperience with Laser Systems and Laser materials processing (e.g., welding, marking, cutting) is an advantage Qualifications/Experience:Level 8 Engineering degree qualification5+ years of engineering experience in a GMP environmentPlease click to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
