Raw Material Buyer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Raw Material Buyer to join our cutting-edge Industrial Manufacturer based in Cork.
This role is ideal for a seasoned Buyer with strong raw material purchasing and vendor management experience, who is eager to take on new challenges and develop their skills within a dynamic organization.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Purchasing raw materials in line with production forecasts, stock levels, and SAP system requirements.
* Balancing supplier capacity and internal inventory levels to support production forecasts without disrupting the production plan.
* Leading efforts with suppliers to address product availability issues and ensuring supply constraint issues are resolved or escalated when necessary.
* Scheduling, managing, and monitoring raw materials deliveries to meet production requirements.
* Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to maintain high levels of internal customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining accurate item master data and price agreements within the SAP system.
* General administration of all related processes, including purchase orders, order confirmations, and invoicing.
* Ensuring up-to-date purchase order delivery dates for accuracy at all times.
* Monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing supplier delivery performance, liaising with suppliers in case of discrepancies.
* Processing claims related to order quantity, delivery dates, and packaging in cooperation with the Quality Department and Goods Receiving Department.
Requirements
* 3rd level qualification in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics is required.
* A minimum of 3 years' experience is required in a purchasing role.
* Experience in Engineering/manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
* Experience working with SAP or an equivalent ERP system is highly desirable.
