Maintenance Fitter - Medical Devices in Kildare North
Cpl are delighted to be supporting our client partner who are a globally recognised brand in Medical Device Manufacturing.
Based in a technology campus in North Kildare for the past 10 years, their business is continuing to grow and a with 25% increase in production output forecast for 2025, they are now looking to recruit a number of skilled professionals to join their high-performance engineering team.
At the moment, all of the maintenance team work a day shift only (Monday to Friday) and support the evening and weekend production shifts with an on-call / out of hours service backup.
The on-call rota is shared between all the maintenance team and call outs are paid at market leading rates of pay.
Maintenance Fitter Job
You will be required to conduct preventative maintenance as well as corrective maintenance on a range of high-speed production lines and robotics units, all of which are used in the manufacture of sterile medical device and medical drug delivery systems.
As a member of a team of high performing engineers, you will be tasked with executing a best-in-class maintenance programme across some of the most up-to-date and high spec production and packaging lines as well as the most sophisticated robots used in the sterile medical device manufacturing industry.
The job requires the Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to set-up, install, maintain, and support packaging and manufacturing equipment to ensure optimum performance and support the achievement of operational goals.
You will be responsible for the Zone / Line performance and overall maintenance and repair of the equipment and machinery.
The Maintenance Fitter should be able to multi-task and solve problems that arise on site, ensuring these problems are resolved quickly and efficiently.
Always maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation.
Deliver a high-quality maintenance service to production, ensuring that maintenance works efficiently, effectively, and safely, in line with the maintenance strategy, and responsible for conducting planned work. The Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Electrician must ensure tool uptime is above 95%.
Plan work activities to improve Line Zone performance in conjunction with the Supervisor/ Lead Fitter.
Ideally, you will be highly competent at using PLC for fault finding.
The Successful Mechanical Maintenance Fitter Will Possess:
1. At least 3 years’ trade experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter.
2. Experience in High Volume Regulated GMP Manufacturing and process background, or from FMCG, Bottling, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, or related industries, ideally within a Lean Six Sigma environment.
3. Ability to troubleshoot and repair damaged or poor performing equipment.
4. Assist in the compilation and presentation of technical feedback on engineering performance relating to yield output, downtime, and make engineering improvements and enhancements to increase productivity and efficiency.
5. Knowledge of GMP or BRC or Clean Room regulations is an advantage.
6. Excellent communication and people skills.
7. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
8. Team collaborator and a good problem solver.
9. PLC / Controller experience (programming an advantage).
10. National Craft Senior Trades Mechanical Qualification or an Equivalent to Trade Qualification is essential.
