Title: Mechanical Utilities Engineer
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the execution of projects within the group.
2. Carry out and implement equipment and process improvement initiatives.
3. Ensure the performance of day-to-day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing and utility equipment.
4. Establish with the Site Engineering Services Manager the performance goals, schedules, and timetables for activities.
5. Assist with the management and support of manufacturing/utility/facility project plans.
6. Coordinate maintenance of manufacturing & facility equipment to required maintenance schedules.
7. Prepare capital expenditure requests for the facility, plant, and equipment.
8. Develop monthly engineering metrics for operations, utilities, and facilities, which includes ownership of the Site Maintenance Excellence Program to drive operational improvements, including implementing cost savings.
9. Ensure successful agency, external, divisional, and corporate audits as related to engineering compliance systems.
10. Issue management reports as requested and on time.
11. Manage relevant budgets within target.
12. Cross-train within the department to ensure appropriate preventive maintenance schedules are achieved.
13. Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices are adhered to.
14. Implement equipment/process upgrades in an environment of continuous improvement.
15. Support the Engineering Team in ensuring that manufacturing equipment is maintained to meet the required legal, divisional, and corporate standards.
16. Liaise with Global Engineering as required.
17. Ensure the effective management of appropriate internal and external plant projects.
18. Implement all relevant policies relating to Quality, Engineering & Safety.
19. Supervise external contractors, including the development of performance metrics for third-party service providers of site services.
20. Negotiate cost and drive quality & performance with external contractors.
21. Prepare appropriate CAPA plans and implement timelines.
Requirements:
Essential Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree: Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Biomedical, Electronics) or Relevant Discipline.
Desired Requirements:
* Experience in Chilled Water, boilers, Potable Water distribution, Compressed Air Generation, LPHW, Building Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, Electricity, Building Safety Systems, and Building regulations is desirable.
Technical/Business Knowledge - Job Skills/Experience Required:
* 5+ years of experience in Facility and Utility Engineering, preferably in a cGMP environment.
* It may be necessary to redesign elements of manufacturing/utility/facility machinery to adapt to process conditions in order to improve efficiency, with a demonstrated track record in managing budgets.
* Experience in Electricity, LPHW, Chilled Water, Potable Water distribution, Compressed Air Generation, Building Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, Building Safety Systems, and Building regulations is desirable.
