OPERATIONS MANAGER, EAST DONEGAL.
Employer and Job Overview Our client is a multi-faceted Group with a base in ROI and also operations across various parts of NI – they operate across multiple sectors /industries including but not limited to manufacturing, engineering, roofing and retail.
They currently wish to employ an Operations Manager at their site East Donegal /Border area to join their dynamic, innovative and hardworking team.
The Groups business interests are all based in the North part of Ireland on either side of the border.
The group currently employs approximately 60 people.
The role: The Operations Manager will be responsible for the operational functions of planning, directing and coordinating as well as maintaining and upgrading plant and machinery at the Donegal Site.
In addition, the Operations Manager is responsible for working with Senior management to maintain and enhance Health and Safety, Training and Inventory control.
Principle Functions • Coordination and Supervision - Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various departments in the organization.
• Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organisational goals.
Formulate and implement departmental, and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output.
Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
• Human Resources - Plan the use of human resources.
Organise recruitment and placement of required staff.
Establish organizational structures.
Delegate tasks and accountabilities.
Establish work schedules.
Supervise staff.
Monitor and evaluate performance.
• Production - Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, warehousing and distribution of goods.
Monitor performance and implement improvements.
Ensure quality of products.
Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity.
Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery.
Provide technical support where necessary.
• Research and Development – Assist in the development of an innovative research and development infrastructure within the business.
• Strategic Input - Liaison with top management.
Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity.
Implement and manage operational plans.
• Financial - Review financial statements and data.
Utilize financial data to improve profitability.
Assist to prepare and control operational budgets.
Control inventory.
Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.
Skills, Education and Experience Educated to third level standard ideally in engineering and/or operational management Industry relevant production experience Knowledge and experience in organisational effectiveness and operations management Knowledge of business and management principles and practices Knowledge of human resource principles and practices Knowledge of project management principles and practices Information technology skills Personal Attributes A positive, can-do attitude with an open mind and willingness to learn An interest in people, working as part of a team and contributing positively to the culture of the organisation Additional important information Hours of Work: Normal working hours are Monday – Thursday 08.00 –17.00 and Friday 08.00 – 14.00 Salary: Depending on experience (€60,000.00 - €70,000.00) Job ref: VAC-13438
